The Russian newspaper Izvestia said that Russian experts are working on a project to develop new technologies for 6G networks.
The newspaper quoted the director of the Russian Radio Research Institute, Oleg Ivanov, as saying that the project is being carried out in cooperation with experts from the Skoltech Institute of the Skolkova Innovation Center, with the aim of setting regulatory frameworks for new networks, regulating the security of their work, and developing new technologies for their operation.
"Izvestia" quoted a second source as saying that the new technologies that Russian experts are working on are supposed to be ready by 2025.
According to expectations, it is expected that the speed of data transmission in the sixth generation networks is supposed to reach 1 terabyte per second, which is approximately 50 times faster than it is now in the fifth generation networks that have not yet spread in most countries of the world.
