With Candid Challenges enabled, you'll receive a notification every day, at a different time, reminding you to take a photo using both the front and back cameras of your phone and share it within two minutes. But wait, doesn't this sound familiar? Isn't this the main feature of the BeReal app?
As we know, tech companies are constantly copying each other, which is not a bad thing at all. This way, as users, we get to experience great features on more apps and devices.
The goal of BeReal app is for people to show their true selves without any filters or preparations. Moreover, the BeReal app is currently a complete hit among the youth. By implementing such a feature, Meta may increase the time young people spend on Instagram.
Following Alessandro Paluzzi's tweet, an Instagram spokesperson confirmed that social media is already working on Candid Challenges, but it's just an "internal prototype" at the moment.
Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that the new feature has not been externally tested. However, they haven't said when Instagram will make explicit challenges available to everyone.
Also, as with all features still under development, Instagram may decide to scrap the project and not release it at all.
